The Redhead

I continue to record my adventures on your internet. Enjoy. -P

Then deep in night
We hid from light
And slowly crept about
Upon the sea,
So far unseen;
Me, Fairy, Stomp, and Sprout.

From in the mist
Much passed-by missed.
I hoped that we would too.
(The last time I
Gave this a try,
We'd fled back very soon.)

The sunrise too
Would, into view,
Bring all that fog concealed.
Surprise would go.
Twas likely no
Escape were we revealed.

The ship’s outline
Came through, and I
Could scarce believe my eyes.
”But how?!?” I gasped.

My mouth, Stomp clasped
With: “That was quite unwise.”

“How’d she survive!?!”
I blinked my eyes.
“The Redhead! She’s right there!”

“I see no head.”

“You have no head,”
Said fairy, curt but fair.

The fairy knew
And right on cue
Explained to Stomping Bird:
“He means the ship
Now close your lip,
Or we’ll be overheard.”
